Fei Fei Li - Member of both the National Academy of Engineering, and the National Academy of Medicine

product ai

Fei-Fei Li, a computer scientist, is co-director at Stanford's Vision and Learning Lab and Sequoia Capital Professor in Computer Science. Her research focuses primarily on computer vision, machine learning, and other aspects of computer vision. She is also a member of National Academy of Engineering. Li is also co-director of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence.

ImageNet

Fei-Fei Li is the author of more than 200 articles and research papers at top journals and conferences. ImageNet, the largest global database for visual recognition, is also her invention. ImageNet is an essential benchmark for artificial intelligence research. This database includes images of real-world objects as well as abstract ideas. Her work has had a profound impact on computer vision. This video will explain ImageNet's workings.

AI4ALL

Professor Fei-Fei Li is co-founder and chief technologist at AI4ALL, and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, Medicine, and the Council on Foreign Relations. As a Stanford Professor, he was also a Google Vice Presidential and Chief Scientist of AI/ML. Li was an assistant professor in Princeton University before joining Google. He also taught at Stanford. He founded ImageNet and, later, AI4ALL in 2009.

National Academy of Engineering

Membership in the National Academy of Engineering is one of the most prestigious honors within the engineering industry. This honour is given to members who make important contributions to science and technology. The organization recently honored Stanford University's professors of engineering and computer science. Some of their recent achievements include developing super-resolution imaging technology and single-cell genomics. The Stanford computer scientist Wang Jianwei as well as Zhuang Ziaowei (Harvard University Physics Professor) are other recent additions.

National Academy of Medicine

The National Academy of Medicine is an American nonprofit, non-governmental organization. It was previously known as the Institute of Medicine until 2015. The organization promotes better health care and better understanding of the medical field. It is responsible in part for publishing Science and developing several guidelines and standards to improve medical care. It also publishes books and research reports as well as other publications that help improve the lives of people worldwide.

SAILORS

SAILORS was founded by four girls who were passionately interested in AI. The program has a unique design and is a great way to introduce girls to AI. Its mission is to make AI inclusive and diverse. The program is supported in part by Jensen Huang’s Y Combinator and Melinda Gates’ Pivotal Ventures. It also includes rigorous quantitative evaluation. The curriculum chairs have received the feedback of the girls and will monitor it.

FAQ

Why is AI so important?

In 30 years, there will be trillions of connected devices to the internet. These devices will include everything from fridges and cars. The Internet of Things is made up of billions of connected devices and the internet. IoT devices can communicate with one another and share information. They will also be able to make decisions on their own. A fridge may decide to order more milk depending on past consumption patterns.

According to some estimates, there will be 50 million IoT devices by 2025. This is a tremendous opportunity for businesses. However, it also raises many concerns about security and privacy.

How will AI affect your job?

AI will eventually eliminate certain jobs. This includes drivers, taxi drivers as well as cashiers and workers in fast food restaurants.

AI will create new employment. This includes positions such as data scientists, project managers and product designers, as well as marketing specialists.

AI will simplify current jobs. This includes doctors, lawyers, accountants, teachers, nurses and engineers.

AI will make jobs easier. This applies to salespeople, customer service representatives, call center agents, and other jobs.

What are the possibilities for AI?

AI serves two primary purposes.

* Prediction – AI systems can make predictions about future events. A self-driving vehicle can, for example, use AI to spot traffic lights and then stop at them.

* Decision making. AI systems can make important decisions for us. Your phone can recognise faces and suggest friends to call.

Statistics

  • A 2021 Pew Research survey revealed that 37 percent of respondents who are more concerned than excited about AI had concerns including job loss, privacy, and AI's potential to “surpass human skills.” (builtin.com)
  • That's as many of us that have been in that AI space would say, it's about 70 or 80 percent of the work. (finra.org)
  • In the first half of 2017, the company discovered and banned 300,000 terrorist-linked accounts, 95 percent of which were found by non-human, artificially intelligent machines. (builtin.com)
  • The company's AI team trained an image recognition model to 85 percent accuracy using billions of public Instagram photos tagged with hashtags. (builtin.com)
  • While all of it is still what seems like a far way off, the future of this technology presents a Catch-22, able to solve the world's problems and likely to power all the A.I. systems on earth, but also incredibly dangerous in the wrong hands. (forbes.com)
